In order to reduce our ecological footprint in the valley of Chamonix, we will use public transportation or one car/van.
The sharp and steep mountains surrounding Chamonix make most hikes a struggle for beginners. However there is one place where everyone can experience and enjoy a true snowshoeing adventure: Trélechamps.
From Montroc, we will go for an easy snowshoeing walk that can be shorten anytime if you are tired or jet lagged from a long day trip. After one hour walking on snow our nose will start noticing some tasty smells. Let’s find out which chimney the smell comes from to open our appetite! Enjoy a delicious three courses dinner to discover our (cheesy) local cuisine with the flames from the fire place warming your back. I’m sure this moment in this old farm will cheer you up before braving the darkness a second time to end our loop to our starting point.

The remoteness of Vallorcine forces us to use a minivan…
This snowshoeing adventure takes place at the far end of the Valley of Chamonix and even beyond: Vallorcine. Its remoteness makes it well preserved and local people known as “Vallorcins” won’t settle anywhere else. Surrounded by fabulous peaks between 2201m and 3096m, there is a lot of forrest and whitewater rivers and crystal clear streams around this genuine mountainous village.
From Le Buet carpark at 1333m ASL we will start our way down towards the restaurant for about 1h (2km with 50m elevation loss). On-site I recommend you to take the full course dinner unless you have a restrictive diet or just because you want your weight in fondue! After dinner we will complete our loop back to the minivan for another hour: this time, it’s going slightly up! It will help you to have a better digestion before going out if you’re still full of energy, or heading directly to bed for a good night sleep.

Chapeau Hut: a little corner of paradise
This hiking quotation system is indicative. Hire me as a mountain leader or evolve at your own risk. Please, do not overestimate your capacities. Mountain can be a hostile environment.
For more informations, download this hiking level guide (French but easy to understand).
This snowshoe adventure dining is for people who like having a physical activity. It takes two and a half hours to navigate through the forrest. The track is not too challenging but can be really steep time to time. The Chapeau Hut has a priceless location not too far from civilization but still remote enough to enjoy the calm and the beauties of the mountains. I have known Thierry for a long time now and I sincerely appreciate both the view and his “cuisine”!

This snowshoe adventure dining at least takes three and a half hours walking. Be sure we will have time to share and exchange a lot along the way. I will lead you to a remote mountain hut across the forrest from where you can enjoy an incredible view above Chamonix and the Aiguille Rouges mountain range. I don’t want to spoil you about what’s going to happen up there but trust me, you won’t be fooled about the quality of our full-course dinner and animations. A great way to celebrate an event with your relatives or friends.
